Up2Scrap is on its way!

We are just finishing the mail out to subscribers of the first bi-monthly issue of Up2Scrap, complete with free gift from KaiserCraft. It looks awesome and we are so glad that it will be on sale in shops as of Monday May 4th, before Mothers’ Day, as there are some special features designed to inspire our readers to celebrate and pay tribute to their mums through cards and layouts.

This photo shows Steph’s daughter Briony being a great helper to mum by assisting with the mail out. She got paid in pizza! A big thank you to the whole design and production team that have helped us launch this great issue.

Winter White and Winter Bright!

The two sketch options available at Up2Scrap's Winter Crop on July 5th, will bring a sparkle to your eyes!  Steph Milne will help you complete a layout using glittering felt, bling cardstock and diamante trim, along with your choice of one of four Luxe "Colour Me" options, "Diva", "Starstruck", "Love" or "Cosy".  Rose McKenzie will introduce you to the delights of working with 'white on white' (see pic below).  $15 per sketch option or alternatively come along and just enjoy  cropping for the day! Celebrating “Pets We Love” (or loved)

De Ja View
Choose between two cool pet paper collections (cats or dogs) from De Ja View or SEI, to celebrate a much loved critter in your life!  This will be a fun evening with a chance to play with some felt and fabric to create a single page layout around either a large portrait or collection of smaller grouped photos.

UP2SCRAP’S SENZ 08 CLASS PROTOTYPES ARE WELL ON THE WAY….

Up2Scrap’s tutors Dianna Feaver, Yolande Fenneman, Rose McKenzie and Steph Milne, are excited by the gorgeous product supplied by sponsors of their classes for SENZ 08 in October.

Sponsors include, Kaiser Craft, Kay’s Company, Out of the Closet, Memories For Ever and Stampin’ Up! “We’re so grateful to the companies who have decided to work with us to provide an exceptional and diverse range of classes,” says Steph Milne,” editor of Up2Scrap.  “Projects range from altered art to mini albums, layouts and cards – some of the product for the class kits being designed/supplied exclusively for Up2Scrap.”

A detailed class list will be advertised in full on both the SENZ website and Up2Scrap’s web and blog sites, as of early August. “We provide classes for a maximum of 15 people per class, to ensure attendees get the best ‘hands-on’ tutoring experience.  While the majority of the classes will be offered twice, it is not always possible with heritage/altered art projects to offer more than one time slot, so people will need to book promptly.”

Just to whet your appetite, here’s a sneak preview of the programme:

•    “A Stitch in Time” – a modern take on a heritage mini album, featuring latest Piggy Tales album and               Cosmo Cricket papers, with tutor Dianna Feaver (sponsored by Kay’s Company and Out of the Closet)
•    “Rose’s Garden” – a trio of contemporary floral ‘all-occasion’ cards, with tutor Rose McKenzie (sponsored       by Stampin’ Up!)
•    “My House – My Castle” – a fantasy MDF castle album with boy/girl options, with Yolande Fenneman           (sponsored by Kaiser Craft)
•    “If the shoe fits” – an altered art project using heritage wooden shoe lasts, with Steph Milne  (sponsored by       Kaiser Craft and Out of the Closet)
•    “As time goes by” – a mini clock album featuring the “Timeless Collection” from Deja Views, tutored by           Rose McKenzie

Hopefully something for everyone!  The tutors are busy working on their prototypes now to make sure pics are ready to view when SENZ class bookings officially open.

Scrapbooking - Girls Day Out

Scrapbooking - Girls Day Out @ Russell Street School

Kelly Rotherham is organising a Scrapbooking Day at Russell Street School soon as a fundraising event. Starting at 1pm you can expect to enjoy 8 hours of uninterrupted scrapbooking time! Afternoon tea, dinner and supper will be served during that time... there will be Free Gift Packs, Raffles, Challenges and Prizes as well as Demonstrations of new products; plus a free Beginner Level Class with Jo Burney.

Two children’s classes for 7 – 12 years of age are also available throughout the afternoon to keep the kids busy, starting at 1pm and 3pm @ cost of $10 per class. All children must be collected by a parent to return home!

Steph will take the morning Sketch Challenge titled “Winter Bright” (starting 10.30am) featuring latest Luxe “Colour Me” paper range.

Rose will tutor the afternoon Sketch Challenge titled “Winter White” featuring Queen & Co felt and Cuttlebug die-cuts. Layouts will suit one large photo of your choice.

Paint Effects Class Rescheduled

We have rescheduled our paint effects class and are now having it on Tuesday the 10th June from 7pm till 9.30pm $35.00 pp.

We will be using Tim Holtz Grunge Board plus the latest goodies from ScrapFx plus acrylic mediums etc. We have also been recently visited by our Aussie Scrap Booking fairy and latest products will be available for purchase.

"Touchy - Feely" Class series on texture

Enjoy working with Steph Milne using a range of texture effects to add more contrast and ‘feeling’ into your layouts!

Tuesday 20th May

• Class One:  Working with flock, foil, glitter and more... Create a special single page layout that explores using techniques to apply same.

Tuesday 27th May

• Class Two:  Paint effects... Work with a variety of chip board (including Grungeboard) and paints/acrylic mediums to add real depth to a single page layout.*

*Classes start at 7pm and conclude at 9pm but an extra half hour will be added to class two to allow for winter drying times of paint etc. Purchase one class at $40pp or attend both at $35pp for each. Up2Scrap's Winter Crop!

            

On Saturday, June 14th, we plan to host our first official 'crop' at the offices of Up2Scrap, in Palmerston North.  Starting at 9.30am and finishing 4pm, we will provide a warm and cosy area for participants to crop to their hearts desire.

            

$10 will secure your place with $5 warm soup and sandwich lunch also available. Space is restricted so email amy@fusiongroup.co.nz to book a spot or call the office on 06 356 2360.                                  

Tutors, Steph Milne and Rose McKenzie will run two separate sketch challenges (one starting 10.30am until noon and the other starting 1.30pm until 3pm) which are optional to take part in.  Kits will be $15 each and include materials, sketch and instructions... plus Rose or Steph will be available to inspire you to complete the same.

Retail shop will be open to all crop attendees - you will have a really fun day catching up with friends and finishing those UFOs!
