And now...
Up2Scrap congratulates Stampin'Up! on recording its biggest sales month ever in New Zealand, indicating a trend towards people taking up hobbies in tough times.
Emma Parkin-Wilson, New Zealand Stampin’Up! Manager says people are joining their company for three reasons; to earn an income, to pay for their crafting hobby and to have some fun. "Our products are sold by demonstrators who visit small groups to run hands-on workshops - these gatherings may just be the ticket to relieving stress and helping people ‘get connected’ during these tough economic times,” says Emma.
Our June sketch challenge winner will win a Stampin'Up! card kit with items from the recently released 2009 cataglogue including stamp set, ink pad and Designer Series paper pack - RRP $120!
And now for the new challenge... this one is from Elite Team member Vicki Morris.
You only need to look around outside today to be inspired by nature. With the change of seasons should be inspired by what we have seen through Autumn. Autumn is such a stunning season with the cooling temperatures, falling leaves, silhouettes of branches not to mention the vibrant colours.
THE COLORS OF FALL.
Filling the sky with crimson and gold,
Leaves scatter without a sound.
Carelessly dancing in the crisp autumn air,
they gently cascade to the ground.
Covering the earth like a warm blanket,
of brilliant color and beauty,
the changing of the season beckons
for all the world to see.

It is no surprise then with such a vibrant season that we see a trend appearing in the latest patterned papers and embellishments – trees, leaves, branches, birds and gorgeous autumn colours. But to be inspired don’t forget you can use them items to create your own. Why not use dried leaves and twigs as embellishments, or use the leaves and bark to create textures or stencils. Take our previous UP2SCRAP trends – April trend of rolling the paper can be used to resemble branches or logs, and the March trend of embossing can be used to create texture and patterns of nature.
Using nature and trees as the trend I have completed the following layout and sketch for this months trend – would love to see what you come up with. Complete the layout and be in to win the fabulous Stampin'Up! card kit valued at $120!
