This month's Trend and Sketch challenge comes from talented Elite Team member Sarah Punnett.
The trend I have noticed lately is 'not square pages'. Scrappers really seem to be thinking outside the square these days and pages of all shapes are appearing everywhere. A lot of the manufacturers are producing die cut papers in many different shapes and even the edges are no longer straight - there are scallops, triangles and curves - just to name a few. 12x12 templates to make your own shaped paper are also becoming very popular and are available in shops and on line.
It seems that many scrappers are really experimenting and making pages to fit the theme of their page. For example for a page about your home you could make your page the shape of a house, or for a page about your garden you could have a page shaped like a tree or you could just freestyle it and see what you end up with - there are no rules!!
I have made my page using a die cut paper from My Minds Eye who have a wonderful range of die cut papers in all shapes. The sketch can easily be adapted to fit any shape page,so this month I challenge you to think outside the square and make a page that is not a traditional square using the sketch as a starting point.
Just email your entry to me (Louise) at bravado@ihug.co.nz and we'll upload it into the gallery for you and this month you're in to win a years subscription to Up2Scrap (and remember - that's now 5 issues a year!!).
